What is ABAK Companion?

ABAK Companion is a desktop application that complements the ABAK mobile app.

It allows physiotherapists to securely archive their evaluations on their own computer, organize clinical information locally, and generate professional reports without relying on cloud storage or online accounts.

The project is currently available in French and is under active development.

Current features

Today, ABAK Companion focuses on:

  • importing ABAK data from a smartphone or tablet;
  • secure local storage on Windows and macOS;
  • management of patient records and episodes of care;
  • generation of professional clinical reports;
  • complete offline operation.

Ongoing development

Many new features are already planned, including:

  • richer patient record management;
  • improved report customization;
  • integration of additional clinical tools;
  • interoperability with other healthcare software;
  • continuous improvements suggested by the community.

ABAK Companion is evolving step by step alongside the needs of physiotherapists.

An open-source project

ABAK Companion is released as open-source software.

We believe healthcare professionals should remain in control of their clinical data and have access to transparent, sustainable software.

Developers, researchers, educators and clinicians are welcome to contribute, suggest improvements or participate in testing.

International collaboration

Although the software is currently available only in French, international collaboration is warmly encouraged.

We would be delighted to welcome contributors from other countries to help:

  • improve the software;
  • translate the interface and documentation;
  • test new features;
  • share ideas from different healthcare systems.

Together, we hope to build a practical, transparent and sustainable tool for physiotherapists worldwide.
