An app designed for clinical practice
ABAK has been designed to fit easily into physiotherapists’ daily clinical practice.
The app is designed for quick and discreet use on a smartphone or tablet, without interrupting interaction with the patient or turning clinical assessment into a complex digital task.
Most key features can be accessed directly from the device used during the consultation, without creating an account or relying on an internet connection.

ABAK aims to provide quick and clear access to assessment tools used in daily clinical practice.
Accessing results
For certain assessments—those where you may allow patients to use your phone or tablet—accessing the results screen requires a deliberate double tap.
This feature is designed to limit the unintentional display of results during the assessment and allow the healthcare professional to choose the most appropriate time to present or explain the information to the patient.
The aim is to keep the app easy to use while respecting the clinical context of each situation.
Searching for assessments
The main screen provides quick access to the different ways of searching for an assessment.
ABAK offers:
- anatomical navigation by body region;
- an alphabetical list of assessments;
- clinical categories;
- quick access to favourites;
- keyword search.
These different access methods allow users to use the app according to their habits and clinical context.
Managing favourites
Favourites provide quick access to assessments and questionnaires that are regularly used in clinical practice.
Each assessment can be added to or removed from favourites using the star icon in the top-right corner of its main screen.
Information available for each test or questionnaire
Each assessment may include additional information to support its use in clinical practice.
Depending on the test or questionnaire, these sections may include:
- the estimated duration of the test;
- the required equipment;
- standardised procedures and instructions;
- clinical thresholds and interpretation guidance;
- reference values;
- bibliographic references and scientific articles.
Wherever possible, ABAK retains the wording and procedures provided by the authors in the original publications.
Settings
ABAK provides several settings to adapt the app to the professional’s working habits and context.
Some options allow users to customise the display, language or certain app behaviours to keep the app simple and easy to use in daily clinical practice.
